• advising schools on the implementation of aboriginal education programs, including support to schools enrolling aboriginal students
• assistance in providing professional support to aboriginal educators, Aboriginal Education Assistants and Aboriginal Community Liaison Officers
• contributing to the implementation of Aboriginal Studies
• coordinating and advising on specific programs relating to aboriginal education
• supporting schools in the implementation of anti-racism policy and grievance procedures across the system
• coordinating and participating in training and development and related activities in the area of aboriginal education (including meetings, forums for teaching, non-teaching staff, parents and students)
• providing support for district and school liaison with aboriginal communities, including executive support for the consultative/advisory groups where necessary
• working collaboratively in teams to support the implementation of equity programs and initiatives
